Makassar, City of Billboard (Agus Putra Gowa)

There are a lot of ways taken by the legislator candidate to attract people’s sympathy in the upcoming election. Those ways are taken in order to pursue people in the election, legislative, major, regent, or even governor. One of the ways is that by using billboard in which we always find on every side of the road.
In Makassar, it is easy to find billboards. At the intersection, at the traffic light, in the paths, etc. the purpose is that the people will know them well and vote them in the election. Each candidate shows photographs, tag line or motto, and also vision and mission to “pro-people”
The presence of these billboards can affect the beauty of the city itself. Every corner of the Street is adorned by billboards; trees, poles, nothing remains. The questions arise is whether this is an effective way or not, is there any other way to promote them? These people look have no or loss creativity and ignoring the city.
No need to use billboards if we are truly “pro-people”. Come to the people; show your attitude and your good intention. Do not promise something that is impossible to achieve. This is a common phenomenon, the candidate really care and give more attention to the people before the election. They are being helpful and closed to poor people.
In conclusion, the writer does hot agree with the existence of billboards in every corner of the street.1t can foul the city. There are some other ways to do without displaying photograph. On the other hand, Makassar was recently awarded “Piala Adipura” as a symbol of a clean city.
