FOREIGN FILMS IN INDONESIA (SuksinLavigne’7)

Lately, there are a lot of films from foreign broadcasting into Indonesian Tv, Malaysia for instance, it is famous with their Ipin Upin and Boboboy cartoon while India is famous with Krisna and  Jodha Akbar drama, and recently Turkey’s drama takes place in the list of Indonesian TV channel entitled Elif and Abad Kejayaan. Those films are much more popular for Indonesian viewer, especially children rather than Indonesian films like Ganteng-ganteng Srigala and 7 Harimau.

Moreover, those cinema attract people’s attention because its contents are more educated, their stories talk about the daily life, or it is a matter of most Indonesian people who always feel proud when they watch films from abroad.

Furthermore, when children watch Ipin Upin and Boboboy for instance, it is more educate them how to be a good student in their school, how to have warm friendship, or to have a nice children at home. When they watch Krisna and Jodha Akbar, those drama values show them how Indian behave as a child or a wife based on their religion, Hindu. When they watch Abad kejayaan, they are introduced by history in Turkey.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian drama  as I mentioned above teach them negative values such as bullying other students, showing over manner in term of boys and girls’ relationship. Indeed, those films educate them to act mischievously against their teachers.

To sum up, it is undeniable that Indonesian dramas are still left behind regarding to the content compared to foreign dramas. Nonetheless, Indonesia is supposed to make educational programs especially for children and teens. It is probably funny but still educating.
